TAI CHI l QIGONG l MARTIAL ARTS
“Each technique leads to metaphysics”
Chinese Martial Arts – Wushu / Kung fu, are ancient techniques formed for the unique development of the human body, mind, and soul. From external combat styles of all kind of animal origine (eagle, tiger) and variety of weapons, through the control of the mind, healing exercises, and Qigong (Energy work), to internal styles as Tai Chi and Bagua. Wushu has to lead towards spirituality, which goes beyond the visible self and exploring ´Tao´. Our school, ´The Soaring Eagle School´ is of Taoist origin, so we include all these practices. During our week we explore the consciousness in the body, open the gates of the Qi energy (Life energy), find some of our mind patterns, and lose them up.
PRACTICALLY WE WILL FOCUS ON
- Qigong form Gods playing in the clouds
- Taichi short form suitable for beginners
- Tachi short form with fan
- Bagua walking (beginners) short form (medium advanced)
- Martial arts basic fighting postures, punches and kicks
We will often divide ourselves into two groups: beginners and experienced individuals.
WHAT YOU GET FROM IT AND WHY WE DO IT
- Get connected to your own body mind and soul
- Feeling the Qi – Energy
- Relax + Release
- Finding and working with the blockages in energy flow in the body
- Postural exercises – alignment of the body
- Spinal exercises – release the pain in the spine and back body
- Relax the nerves / Stress release
- Rise of the immunity system
- Strengthening your muscles, tendons, and ligaments
- Grounding on the Earth, raise self-confidence
WHAT WE PRACTICE
- Learning to sensate Qi energy, sink, relax and guide into the places in the body we need. That we will learn with the Qigong version of the form called Gods playing in the Clouds.
- Bagua Circle Walking: Practice walking in a circular pattern to cultivate Qi flow and improve balance.
- Bagua – Single Palm Trigrams: Explore the ancient practice of Bagua’s trigrams and their connection to energy.
- Taichi short form & form with fan: Tai chi is Qigong in movement. Learning occurs from the outside towards the inside. That is why Tai Chi first focuses more on mastering movement. After, there is concentrating more on the breath, relaxation, mastering the mind, and guiding or controlling QI.
How can we improve our practice and elevate it to a higher level? We use different tools, such as weapons, which provide additional support for inner relaxation. We consciously expand our awareness beyond the body, reaching out to the edge of the weapon. This approach also enhances motor skills and concentration related to movement.
We have chosen the fan for you; it is a mysterious, graceful, and beautiful weapon. We will offer a short form Tai chi with fan. Like any of the Tai chi forms, using fans requires focus, balance, poise, and awareness.
- Combat aspect of Martial Arts, like basic punches, kicks, and stances, which are important for performing a proper way of Qigong as well.
- Dissolving meditation will be a special bonus to the whole program; deepening the breath, so more oxygen enters the body; locating the blockages in our psychosomatic system, relaxing, releasing and dissolving them.
This summer week will take place from July 25 till august 1 in Preau and will be taught by Eva Bergerova and Edy Urbanovič, Czech and Slovak teachers of Wushu – Kung Fu. Eva and Edy share the same foundation in the Soaring Eagle school, while also developing their own skills and focuses.
Eva will guide you into the depths of mental and emotional release, exploring Shen-awareness and philosophies connected to Taoism. Edy will teach you the incredible connection between body movement and the increasing flow of Qi. He will introduce you to movements you might not believe exist, and you’ll be amazed at your ability to practice them and flow with the stream of energy.
Eva speaks English fluently and can understand Dutch quite well. Edy will have a translator available for English.
Preau is a place to come to yourself, to enjoy yourself, to get connected and to blossom again. The accommodation, the food, the nature, the people of Preau and the space to enjoy make the week complete. Anyone can participate this week.
