SUMMARY:SAMHAIN - ECSTATIC DANCE IN NATURE
DESCRIPTION:SAMHAIN – Ecstatic Dance in Nature \nSamhain is a festival of transition\, celebrated around Forefathers’ Eve\, or All Saints’ Day—at the end of October and the beginning of November. It is marked by the noticeable shift toward darker evenings and lighter mornings\, signifying the start of the darker time of the year. \nWe are entering the dark season now. According to the Greek myth of Demeter and Persephone\, this is the time when Persephone begins her descent into the Underworld. \nIt is a moment for turning inward and completing the tasks we didn’t manage during the summer\, when it was too sunny and shiny for us to be bothered by darkness and shadows. \nThis is also the time to light fires and candles for our families and all our relations. \nSamhain\, or Dziady in Polish tradition\, and Dušičky in Czech tradition\, involves not only honoring our ancestors but also connecting with them through rituals. These rituals\, called Dziady\, allow us to honor the souls of our forebears and celebrate the family lineage from which we come. \nThis is what we are going to dance—to connect with our roots and the line behind us. We honor our parents\, grandparents\, and all those who came before us. This dance serves to purify our lineage and brings safety and trust into our lives. \nWe will have a fire to burn away what needs to go\, allowing us to enter the present moment—purified—in our lives. \nIt all happens in nature at our Lovely Mother Earth – Moeder Aarde hills in Abswoutse bos in Tanthof Delft. \nLet’s take on this challenge and dance in the beauty of autumn.
